Keith Meets CHiP (California Highway Patrol)
Lights ... sirens ... pretty self-explanatory ... Keith was pulled over for a traffic violation!!! Guess what for ... yep ... IMPEDING TRAFFIC!
Okay, I do have to take some of the blame on this one. We've been trying to photograph every state sign as we are entering the state. We missed the California sign when entering so we were trying to photograph it on our way out. Keith was driving in the "passing lane" for quite a few miles while we watched for the sign. What was even funnier, the Trooper showed us where the sign was ... 50 feet ahead of where he stopped us.
The Trooper was very nice, he had a good laugh with us and sent us on our way.

On the Road Again ... California to Arizona
Meteor Crater, Arizona
We stayed in Meteor Crater, Arizona for three nights. The campground is located on an old section of Route 66 and was a very clean, quiet place to stay. The sunsets were beautiful. You can see where we took the jeep "off-road" to travel a portion of Historic Route 66.
Seeing Meteor Crater was amazing...much more than we expected. We took a one-mile hike along the crater rim. Astronauts have actually trained here preparing for moon missions. As you can see in the photos, there is an Astronaut Wall of Fame. Maybe even a distant relative listed on that wall, could be.
